Colombian breakfast in Sydney: weekends from 9am in Surry Hills

Most of the week Tentaciones opens at 11am. On Saturday and Sunday we open the doors at 9am for a proper Colombian breakfast: soup, eggs, arepas, plantain and coffee made at the bar.
Calentado
Calentado means "warmed up". It started as last night's rice and beans, heated in a pan the next morning, and it became a breakfast of its own. Ours comes with rice and beans, a fried egg, chorizo, chicharron, avocado, fried plantain and a grilled arepa.
Arepa con huevo perico
Huevo perico is how Colombians scramble eggs, with tomato and spring onion. We serve it on an arepa, the corn cake that goes with almost every Colombian meal. If you want something smaller, the arepa solo queso is a warm arepa with cheese.
Soup for breakfast
It sounds strange until you try it. In Colombia a bowl of soup in the morning is common, and soup is part of our weekend breakfast.
Coffee
Colombia grows some of the best known coffee in the world, and we make ours at the bar: a regular, a large or an iced coffee.
When to come
Saturday from 9am to 7pm and Sunday from 9am to 5pm, at 50-52 Foveaux St, Surry Hills, up the hill from Central Station.
